What it is

The Smart Network Tower radio is a macro-class remote radio unit for 1800 MHz Band 3, running LTE and GSM at the same time, in 2T2R, extendable toward 4T4R. Under ten kilograms, sealed and passively cooled, and backhaul-agnostic: fiber, microwave, or LEO.

It does the full job of the radio it replaces: macro coverage, the same sectors, the same tower. What changed is the power architecture underneath. It goes on towers that already stand and on sites that were never built, for the same reason in both cases.

Design target · measured at first field trial

Our design target is roughly three times lower radio power draw, and about half the total energy at the site. Those are modeled figures. The first customer field trial is what measures them.
